Welcome to District Council 15!

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 15 (IUPAT DC 15) is a labor union of approximately 6,200 men and women in Colorado, Southern Nevada and Arizona who are committed to providing the finest craftsmanship in our trades. District Council 15 now consists of six locals, with the new addition of Colorado:

  • Mixed Local Union 86 in Phoenix, Arizona
  • Painters and Drywall Finishers Local Union 159 in Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Glaziers and Glassworkers Local Union 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Painters and Drywall Finishers Local Union 79 in Denver, Colorado
  • Glaziers and Glassworkers Local Union 930 in Denver, Colorado
  • Floor Coverers Local Union 419 in Denver, Colorado

Our members work in the finishing trades as drywall finishers, floor coverers, fabricators, glass workers, glaziers, painters, paperhangers and sign and display workers as well as many more exciting occupations. IUPAT members' skills are in high demand at every construction project in North America and Canada.

The IUPAT membership extends far beyond the workplace, however. Recognized as one of the most active unions in the labor movement, IUPAT members help shape their communities in many ways: through an abiding commitment to service, by fighting passionately for workers' rights that benefit all working families, and through effective and aggressive political mobilization.

We are committed to making sure our members get paid fair wages and receive medical, vacation, and retirement benefits they have earned and to which they are entitled. We provide our contractors with a stable, highly-skilled and safety-conscious worker, prepared to meet all of the challenges in today's workplace.

We are affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), the Southern Nevada Building and Construction Trades Council, the Southern Nevada Central Labor Council,  the Arizona Building and Construction Trades Council, and the Colorado Building and Construction Trades Council. Our District Council is also affiliated with many industry associations that promote new technologies and better and safer workplaces for all workers.

Our own Training Center provides training and upgrading for our members and offers apprenticeships in Floor Covering, Drywall Finishing, Glazing and Painting.

The Council's newsletter provides important information about our members and the industry throughout Arizona, Southern Nevada and Colorado.

We can help you organize your shop. If you are working in a non-union shop and have concerns about safety or fairness on the job site, we have skilled organizers who can help you bring in a union. Call (702) 563-2186 in confidence and ask to speak to an organizer.
